Abbott Sekaquaptewa (Hopi), past Chairman of the FFC Board of Directors, became involved with FFC in 1978. Abbott was extremely passionate about improving American Indian children’s lives and played an integral part in developing the self-reliance method utilized by FFC in all of its programs. Abbott spearheaded the Youth Leadership Program in the mid 1980’s with a week-long camp dedicated to leadership development for American Indian students. Abbott’s contributions to FFC have lasted long after his time, truly leaving a legacy of philanthropy.​
